Fetish clothing is a kind of provocative and usually
explicitly
erotic clothing that brings sexual arousal to fetishists. Unlike other
types of clothing, this one is not usually worn on a regular basis but
rather used on special occasions like fetish
parties or
during sexual play. Pieces of this sort can present a wide variety of
articles depending on the object that is viewed as a fetish for particular
people. For example, if a person has a fur
fetish,
they will focus on furry items such as coats, throws and bedspreads. In
fact, fur is a very strong fetish for many people as it has erotic and
luxurious looks.
However, there are some types of garment that generally have a strong
association with fetish clothing. These include stiletto heeled shoes,
over-the-knee boots and high platform shoes, shoulder-long gloves, all
sorts of corsets, cat-suits, stockings and garter, sexual lingerie and
various accessories like collars or body harnesses, especially those
made of metal and leather. On the whole, materials most widely used for
fetish clothing are latex, rubber, nylon, spandex and fishnet or
fence-net, etc. The former ones are so popular for their resemblance to
leather and comparatively lower prices.
As has already been pointed out, fetish clothing is not a type of wear
to dress in every day. It is also not always easy to find in stores
(except for the Internet ones), that is why people often tailor their
fetish costumes themselves. This makes fetish clothes unique and
unusual. When an event is organized in a fetish club, guests are
required to follow some dress code, non-compliance with which is a
reasonable ground for refusing admission to the venue, so they often
bring the clothes in packages and then change before entering the
establishment.
Fetish clothing is often featured in the related (pornographic) movies and the
fashion trends are traced by various magazines and other publications
including virtual ones.
